Overall the safety ratings for this car seat are very high. It was a top performer during our crash test, and the dummy's head and chest were able to withstand very low forces of g.
The only other thing to consider is that this seat will not last as long as other models. According to CDC charts, your child will begin to outgrow it by age three. It's difficult to get them up to age 5 in this seat. It has a weight limit of 40lbs and one height adjustment. It's likely that you'll need to change to a backless booster at this point or go with a bigger seat.
